Capital Campaign
Grace Church Capital Campaign
“A HOUSE FOR ALL PEOPLE”
On January 15, 2012, Grace Church officially commenced its Capital Campaign with a wonderful Kick-Off Dinner. As we begin, each member of the parish is invited to receive a personal visit from a Grace volunteer/solicitor to review proposals for building renovations that will ensure a safe, secure, inviting and efficient building. As well as proposals to ensure a financially secure parish, through enhancement of the Endowment Fund and creation of an organ maintenance fund. In addition, there is a proposal to enhance our mission in the world through creation of an outreach fund. A brochure has been created to share with the congregation containing detailed information regarding the proposals.
The Grace Church Restoration and Renovation Committee was formed in 2010 to investigate the condition of Grace Church’s physical plant. The committee’s mandate was: investigate the structural integrity of the building, enhance safety, improve efficiency, create a more inviting environment and enhance our worship. Since that time the committee has worked diligently with professional consultants to determine the ways in which our glorious 163 year old Richard Upjohn church should be updated so as to be safe and convenient as our parish home for many years to come. The parish leadership has spent many hours reviewing and approving these studies and plans, as well as proposals to enhance the financial security of Grace church and provide a sound basis for outreach programs.
Focus groups were conducted in the fall of 2011 to present proposals to the entire congregation and to solicit questions, comments and feedback. The results were reported back to the Rector, Wardens and Vestry.
As parish members call upon you to ask for your support for the Grace capital campaign we encourage you to welcome them; discuss with them the informative Capital Campaign Brochure that they will share with you; ask your questions, and respond generously to this shared effort to make Grace Church “A House for All People.”
A Prayer for Grace Church
Loving God,
You have called us to be a house of prayer
for all people.
We thank you for all who have gone before us,
for all who will come after us,
and for those we are privileged
to serve in your Name.
Open our hearts to welcome all;
give us courage to love the loveless;
deepen our prayer and devotion;
and lead us to make a difference in the world.
Now, give us grace to honor you
as we preserve our past and build our future.
Inspire an extravagant love and
generosity among us
so that we may share your love with others
and honor you in this time and in this place.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior.
Amen.
